Davis Square Streetscape Improvements: Design Update

jbw_2843The City of Somerville is pleased to announce a design update open house for the Davis Square Streetscape Improvements project. The open house will take place on Wednesday, April 30th at 6:30 PM at the Tufts Administration Building, 167 Holland Street. The project team has been working on updating the design with additional detail incorporating community input over the past several months. City staff and designers will be on hand to give a brief overview of the design and take questions and comments from the public.

The Davis Square Streetscape Improvement Project kicked off in summer 2012 and included a full site survey, conditions inventory, and traffic analysis of the main square and surroundings. Through public meetings, a site walk, and a survey, the team received input that helped us refine the scope and design of the project, including traffic signal improvements, traffic calming elements, improved pedestrian accommodations and safety, and new pavement types and other aesthetic and functional elements. We hope you can join us on the 30th and help guide the project design. For more information on the project, visit the project website.

The meeting location is accessible to people with disabilities. To request language assistance, American Sign Language interpreters, assistive listening devices, handouts in alternate formats, or information on the meeting, please contact the below.
